Chile economy to limp along at less than 1% in Q1 2020 -poll

Chile’s economy is expected to grow just 0.80% in the first quarter of 2019, a monthly poll of analysts showed on Tuesday, as the effects of more than two months of unrest in the country, the world’s top copper miner, continue to linger. Early indicators have nonetheless shown the economy to be more resilient than initially anticipated following the most violent protests since Chile’s return to democracy in 1990.
