E.nable, a Chilean company that helps financial services institutions such as banks detect fraud in digital channels, has bought in InterSystem’s IRIS Data Platform to strengthen its fraud detection operations. Iris is a unified data platform that houses a scalable database and has built-in analytics and interoperability tools. Different applications can plug into it.

The liquors and spirits industry projects a fall of 30% in consumption

The president of the Association of Manufacturers and Distributors of Liquors and Spirits of Chile, Juan Pablo Solís de Ovando, stated that alcoholic beverage consumption has fallen significantly since late March and projects that in April there will be a 30% decrease. Pisco Chile manager Claudio Escobar says producers are reporting up to 70% sales reductions.

Acciona cleared to start operations of new wind, PV plants in Chile

Spanish renewable energy group Acciona SA has been given the green light to commence commercial operation of the 62-MWp Almeyda solar photovoltaic (PV) park in Chile’s Atacama region. In 2020, Acciona plans to continue growing its operating capacity in Chile with the commissioning of its 84-MW Tolpan wind farm in Araucania and the 64-MWp Usya PV park in Antofagasta.

Innergex acquires 68-MW solar farm in Chile at $66.1mn

Innergex Renewable Energy Inc has acquired the 68-MW Salvador photovoltaic plant in Chile along with a number of 11-year local demand-based power purchase agreements. The transaction, valued at a total of $66.1 million, was made with Etrion Chile SpA, Total Solar Latin America SpA and Holding, and Solventus Salvador SpA. Located in the Atacama Desert, the Salvador solar park is expected to generate 182.2 GWh annually, enough to meet the demand of over 70,000 local households.
