Lithium Chile begins exploration programme on its Carmona Gold Silver Property

Lithium Chile Inc. is pleased to announce it has mobilised the company's geological team to begin the planned initial exploration program on its Carmona gold/silver property. It is the company's intention to expand its data base and knowledge on both the Carmona gold/silver exploration project and the Laguna Blanca lithium/cesium exploration prospect.

Uber grocery delivery launches in Latin America

A day after acquiring Postmates for $2.65 billion, Uber has officially launched grocery delivery in select Latin American and Canadian cities. The initiative is the product of the also recently announced acquisition of Cornershop (still pending regulatory approval), back in late-2019. The Santiago, Chile-based startup brought grocery delivery to the Latin American market before moving north to Toronto. Today’s launch covers 19 cities in Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia and Peru, and is set to expand to the U.S. market at some point later this month.

The first shipment of Chilean fruits arrived in China and sold out within a few days

The first shipment of Chilean lemons arrived in China on June 29th after the opening of the market to Chilean citrus fruit on May 14th 2020. The fruit was imported by the Dalian Yidu Group and was sold out within a few days. This shipment of lemons will also open the door to other Chilean citrus exports. Currently, citrus fruits that have received import approval from China include Citrus reticulata and its hybrids (clementines and tangerines), grapefruit (Citrus paradisi), oranges (Citrus sinensis) and lemons (Citrus limon).

Data from state copper agency Cochilco shows output was maintained at normal levels during the first five months of the year, averaging 473,200 tonnes per month. Chile produced 432,500t of red metal in May, but market observers are expecting these figures to fall as mining operations slow due to COVID-19 cases among miners increasing.
