Antofagasta’s copper production totalled 177,700 tonnes in second quarter

Chilean mining company Antofagasta maintained its copper production and cost targets for the year as it reported lower second-quarter output. The company said copper production in the second quarter totalled 177,700 tonnes, a decline of 8.4% compared to the previous quarter, mainly due to expected lower grades from the Centinela mine. Net cash costs were 2.7% higher at $1.13 per pound.
