Engie and Mining3 obtain funds for green hydrogen powertrain project in Chile

French energy group, Engie, and research organisation, Mining3, have secured CH$252 million ($326,500) in financing for their Hydra renewable hydrogen powertrain project in Chile. The funding has been allocated by Chilean economic development agency CORFO. Engie and Mining3 will begin with a pre-feasibility and engineering study of the powertrain and the renewable hydrogen refuelling system for mining trucks. They will then proceed with the design and fabrication of a fuel cell and battery powertrain prototype with a capacity between 100 kW and 200 kW and test its performance under mining conditions.
