Chilean Atlantic salmon production increased by 9% in first half of 2020

Chilean Atlantic salmon production reached just over 362,000 metric tons in the first half of 2020, a 9% increase over the same period last year, according to analyst at market research firm Kontali. In March and April, Chilean farmers processed less than in the same months last year, while harvests in June were 21% higher than last year. Total exports of Atlantic salmon in the second quarter came in at 154,600 metric tons, marginally above last year, while the average price per kilo fell by 23% from a year earlier.
