Chilean outfit Energy Focus presented the environmental impact study for the 364-MW La Punta wind farm project set to be located in Chile’s O’Higgins region. The power company plans to invest $ 400 million to erect 65 turbines of up to 5.6 MW. Power from the wind farm would be injected to the existing substation through a new 23-kilometre (14.3 miles) transmission line, according to the EIS filed with Chilean environmental evaluation service SEA.
The National Economic Prosecutor's Office (FNE) filed an injunction against The Walt Disney Company (Disney Parent) and its subsidiary TWDC Enterprises for having submitted false information in the procedure of analysis of the concentration in which it acquired the shares of Twenty-First Century Fox and for failing to take action during the approval process. In the request, the FNE indicated that it would request a fine of $ 439,000 for Disney Parent and $ 3.7 million for TWDC, both of which total US$ 4.1 million.
Movistar Chile (Telefonica) is about to launch a new private tender to sell part of its mobile spectrum rights over two years after the Supreme Court first ordered the company to return the concession, reports Diario Financiero. The operator will put up for sale a 10MHz block in the 1.9GH to comply with the Supreme Court's final ruling of October 2019 ordering Movistar as well as rivals Claro (America Movil) and Entel to return excess spectrum secured in the 700MHz band tender in 2014.
Hot on the heels of further positive drill results at El Zorro in Chile, Tesoro Resources has moved to dominate the prospective gold ground by extending its land position in the region by 500%. The company revealed its application for a further 188 concessions adjoining El Zorro had now been granted. This increases Tesoro’s footprint in the region by 440sq km to 540sq km.
The President of Chile, Sebastian Piñera, and his Colombian counterpart, Ivan Duque, announced their adhesion to the COVAX Facility platform, promoted by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Alliance for Vaccination (GAVI) to distribute the coronavirus vaccine. The Chilean President explained that this agreement will allow them to obtain a total of eight million doses of the vaccine once it has been validated by the WHO.
