Unemployment in Chile fell 12.9% in the quarter to August

According to the government, unemployment in Chile fell slightly to 12.9% in the quarter to August compared to the previous three months but remained at the highest levels in a decade, affected by the impact of COVID-19 on the economy. The record in August is 5.3% points higher compared to the same period of the previous year, specified the National Institute of Statistics (INE). The fall in employed persons is equivalent to the loss of roughly 1.7 million jobs.
