More than six million people have requested a second withdrawal of 10% of their pensions, bringing payments made by Pension Funds to $1.05 billion. The Superintendent of Pensions reported that the system registered 6,136,165 requests, of which 209,221 have been rejected, or 3.4% of the total.

Fiscal cost of public sector readjustment reaches $600mn
According to the government, the fiscal cost of the public sector realignment amounts to just over $600 million. This is without considering the 2.7% increase included in the proposal for Christmas, Independence Day and schooling bonds.
Losses mount among Chile’s leading salmon-farming firms
Three of Chile’s largest seafood farming operators have posted their third-quarter results for 2020. Chilean salmon farming company Nova Austral’s revenues increased 26% to $39.7 million but cost of goods sold outpaced the revenue increase, increasing by 32 percent year-over-year to $37.3 million. Salmones Austral saw revenues dip 14% to $45.8 million and Multiexport Foods posted a loss of $12.2 million.
Tesoro Resources assays show Chile prospect’s potential for gold mineralisation from surface to depth
Assays from another seven holes completed by Tesoro Resources at its El Zorro project in Chile have added more evidence of a fast-growing gold resource. The company also said additional sampling from an earlier hole at the Ternera prospect has revealed an increased mineralised zone measuring 213.5m long, demonstrating the potential for Ternera to be continuously mineralised from surface to depth.
METKA EGN officially boards Mainstream’s 118.4-MWp solar project in Chile
Greek builder METKA EGN Limited said that its role as the contractor of the 118.4-MWp Pampa Tigre solar project in Chile has been made official. The EPC firm was hired by Ireland’s Mainstream Renewable Power, which first announced METKA’s involvement in September after reaching the financial close for the second phase of its 1.3-GW Andes Renovables wind and solar platform in Chile.
