In 2020, China consolidated its position as one of Chile's main trading partners. Between January and September 2020, trade between the two countries reached $30.6 billion. Exports reached $19.05 billion, with copper being by far the main product sent to China ($13.8 billion).

Chilean health regulator approves Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. First 20,000 doses will arrive this month
The Chilean health regulator has approved for emergency use the COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer, paving the way for the first doses to be administered as early as Christmas to citizens over the age of 16. The first 20,000 doses of vaccines will land this month in Chile, allowing to immediately start vaccinating all who work in the intensive care units of Chile's health system.
ABB together with Claro and Nokia carries out satellite telematics tests in Chile with Gold Fields’ Salares Norte
ABB working with Claro and Nokia has tested telematics using satellite connectivity between the Gold Fields’ Salares Norte gold mining project located near Copiapo at 4,700 m above sea level and Chilean capital Santiago, some 1,200 km away. The tests showed that it is possible to connect technologies located thousands of kilometres away, with totally isolated areas.
Over 7mn Chilean cherries arrived to the UK market
IAG Cargo, the cargo division of International Airlines Group (IAG), has transported record numbers of Argentinian and Chilean cherries. Last week, the latest charter flew from Santiago de Chile to London Heathrow, carrying over 7 million cherries for the UK market.
