Fedefruta estimates 80 thousand jobs will be affected by the agriculture crisis

The president of the Federation of Fruit Producers of Chile (Fedefruta), Jorge Valenzuela, estimated that 80 thousand jobs in agriculture could be affected by Chile’s frontal system. He also estimated losses of 10-15%. This is because the table grape, the most affected fruit, represents 40% of fruit exports. It is also a crop that requires a lot of labour. Therefore, as fruit volumes decrease, so does the labour.
