Chile’s renewables share at 23% in April

Chile’s renewable energy systems injected 1,498 GWh of power into the mix in April, up by 27.3% year-on-year, according to Chilean energy commission CNE. Chile’s renewables share decreased to 23%. The total power production in Chile rose by 5.4% year-on-year to 6,516 GWh. In month-on-month terms, the total generation dropped by 6.6%. In April, the total installed capacity of non-conventional renewables crossed the 7-GW milestone to reach 7,173 MW. Renewables now make up 27.8% of Chile’s total installed capacity.
